David Suzuki

Born: Marc 24, 1933; Vancouver, British Columbia
Fields of study: Behavioral genetics
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Suzuki received his education in the United States, graduating from Amherst College with an A.B. degree, and from the University of Chicago with a Ph.D. in zoology in 1961. A leading geneticist, his major research interests have been in the regulation and development of behavior, in the genetic organization of chromosomes, and in developmental and behavioral genetics. Suzuki is much concerned in his writing with the implications of his discipline for the future, as evidenced in such books as Inventing the Future (1989), It’s a Matter of Survival (with Anita Gordon, 1990), and The Sacred Balance: Rediscovering Our Place in Nature (with A. McConnell,1997).
