Crabs are sandy or whitish in color and have unequal size claws and fairly hairy legs. The back, or shell, is approximately rectangular in shape and approximately 3.75 to 5 cm wide (about 1.5 to 2 inches). The long stems support the eyes. Crabs sometimes live in burrows 1 meter (3.3 feet) deep.
