What is the lifespan of an ocelot?

Animal Expert
Ask Q

Ocelots generally live 8 to 11 years.

Can Ocelot be a pet?

Ocelot was famously kept as a pet by Salvador Dali. However, they are currently rare in pet trading and are very difficult to obtain (if still possible). Ocelot is also more difficult to maintain as a pet compared to other wild cats.

Are there predators in Ocelot?

Although they are predators, ocelots are often harassed by groups of potential prey such as monkeys and birds. Large cats such as mountain lions and jaguars may share Ocelot's habitat, but each cat targets a different prey.

How many ocelots are left?

An estimated 800,000 to 1.5 million have been found throughout the Western Hemisphere. In the United States, less than 60 ocelots remain in two small populations in southeast Texas.

How rare is Ocelot?

Java edition. In the jungle, spawn attempts can fail 1/3, and in the bamboo jungle or the edge of the jungle 100% fail. Ocelots are passive mobs, but natural spawning considers hostile mobcaps rather than much lower (1/10) passive mobcaps.
